OFFICIAL: Atalanta exercise buy-out option for Mario Pasalic

  • The Croat has been playing for the Serie A side for 2 years.
  • The buy-out fee is reportedly €15m.
  • Pasalic leaves Chelsea without playing a single game for the club.

Atalanta have taken up the option to sign Chelsea loanee Mario Pasalic on a permanent deal, the Blues' official website confirms. Earlier it's been reported that the Italian club negotiated a €15m buy-out clause, so the news is not exactly unexpected
The Croatian midfielder is currently in the second year of his spell in that club where he's become one of the key team members for their push for the highest-ever Serie A finish last season and the Champions League quarterfinal this campaign. All in all, Pasalic played 75 games for the Bergamo-based team, scoring 15 goals.
The 25-yea-old joined Chelsea in a €2.5m move from Hajduk Split in 2014. He's never made an official appearance for the Blues so far.
The central midfielder had loan spells at Elche, AS Monaco, AC Milan and Spartak Moscow before joining Atalanta in 2018.
